It’s Our Turn

Remember back in the days before dishwashers, when after a family meal, an argument would sometimes develop about whose turn it was to do the dishes or carry out the garbage? I don’t know why but it seemed to my young mind that it was ALWAYS my turn.

What I used to do grudgingly, I now do happily…thanking God that there is plenty of food to fill my plate and thankfulness for legs that can still carry bundles of garbage down the steps and out the backdoor.

Jesus gives us the high privilege of being carriers of His love to others like international students and immigrants living here. This Lenten season, we will be carrying God’s love to our international students with a showing of the Jesus Film, downtown at a local coffee shop. We’ve also engaged with POBLO, People of the Book Lutheran Outreach, who will provide us with copies of the film in Arabic as take-home gifts for our Muslim speaking friends.

During this time of Lent, our blood-bought family can take turns at pouring out Jesus’ love and mercy to the people around us — the love and mercy Jesus has showed us from the cross.   To learn more about how you can be part of this exciting ministry, please drop me an email by clicking here.

PRAYER: Lord, fill us with Your Holy Spirit, and use us to Your glory. Amen.
