Good Evening/Morning

Vacation Bible School– This year we had 63 children in attendance, and 43 staff members that helped, spread the word of God, in a fun and exciting environment. We would like to say THANK YOU to all those that volunteered thou out the week to make it happen!

Pig Roast- Back to church weekend went great; we had decent attendance as well as beautiful weather. About 90 people enjoyed the pig roast/pot luck picnic. We would like to thank Bud and Paula Ex for their generous contribution of the pig and time cooking it, Dave Wygocki for the musical entertainment, as well as Sarg and her crew for all the preparations. For those of you don’t know,  Serg translates to Kathy Boyce!

Veterans Dinner- Veterans will be recognized during our worship service on Saturday, November 9. A dinner and recognition will be offered prior to worship that evening. Please mark your calendars now to be part of this special event, to recognize those who have served our country. All Trinity members as well as the community are invited to attend!

Church Safety Team- A church safety team is in the process of being formed. Once in place, at each worship service there will be a three- member “hospitality” team to assist with safety and security.  The team will work like this: One person on each team will be one medically trained for any situation that may arise, (heart attack, stroke, slip and fall or any other medical problem that could arise) this person will worship towards the back of the sanctuary for quick response. The second person will remain in the lobby to greet late arrivals, keep an eye on the parking lot, and allow re-entry if someone needs to leave for a few minutes. The third person will be a floater, and will assist wherever needed. This ministry isn’t intended to alarm people, it is just a step to ensure our building and grounds are secure and our congregation is safe, in our ever changing world.

Harvest DinnerThe Ladies are preparing to prepare a wonderful roast pork dinner, with all the fixn’s, green beans, squash, mashed potatoes, and best of all homemade pie. The dinner is October 10th , right here at Trinity in the lower level, and will be served from 4:00p  – 7:00p.m. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. $12 Adults, $5 Youth (5-9), FREE 4 yrs. and under. This dinner will be fabulous and is open to the public, so be sure to let your friends know about it! And best of all the proceeds will benefit the Trinity building fund.

Quilters- The Trinity Quilters will be having their annual quilt sale here at Trinity, before and after both services the weekend of October 5th & 6th, this sale raises the funds they need to produce the beautiful quilts that they send all around the world. The quilts are great to use for gifts, whether it be for Christmas, birthday, or just an anytime gift to say I love you! They are  great value at just $35.00 each.

Brunch- There will be no education classes on October 27, because it is a regular school break! So, let’s do what we do best, EAT! The fellowship committee will have a brunch that day for all to enjoy, while spending some time in fellowship with our brothers and sister here at Trinity. The brunch will be served in the Trinity room following the service that morning.

Sneaker & Sweatshirt – Coming up the weekend of October 19th and 20th is our Sneaker and Sweat Shirt weekend. This is an easy opportunity to support the Franklin Avenue Mission! So, start looking through your closets for gently used sweatshirts and sneakers, that you are no longer using anymore Then please be sure to bring them the weekend of the 19th & 20th when you come to worship. This is a great way to help people in need! Oh, and by the way, new items work well also!

HOMELESS SLEEPING MAT – Plastic grocery bags, here’s a great idea for that seeming endless supply of bags that show up in you cupboard, A CROCHET WORKSHOP is being planned for  October 19th at 10 a.m. here at Trinity to learn how to turn those unwanted bags into useful sleeping mats for the homeless. Get with Vickie Foster if you are interested in attending.

Fall Family Festival/Trunk or Treat- Trunk or Treat is coming up in just a few short weeks; this year’s event is on Thursday October 24th and will be held from 6:00- 7:30 pm.  It would be great to have everyone come out and open their trunks, and share candy for this huge outreach event for the children in our community. If you are available please sign up for a spot to pass out some goodies. If you are not able to attend but would like to help out, we are always in need of extra candy. If you can help that way it would be greatly appreciated!, There will be a box in the lobby in the coming weeks to collect bags of wrapped candy.

Back to school blast! – The back to school blast was a huge success this year, with literally 1000s of people in attendance. We would like to that all the volunteers that went and helped get Trinity’s name out in the community, and also the people that supplied school supplies to be given away that day, to help children with some much needed school supplies. Again Thank You!

Voter Assembly Meeting! –Our biannual voters meeting will be Sunday, November 3rd in the Trinity room at 12:00pm: Some of the items at this meeting will be our 2020 budget, a vote on updating the Koester estate funds policy, discussion on some proposed projects around the church building, and electing officers to expiring terms. We hope to see you there!

Thank you for the opportunity to share this update! I will be back for another update on December 29thth.

God’s Blessing to you all!
