It was on this day nearly two millenia ago that a man named Jesus of Nazareth rode into the city of Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. The Bible records for us that the people placed palm branches and their cloaks on the road so that Jesus’ donkey could walk on them. The crowds greeted Jesus with the expression, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Mark 11:9) What was meant by their greeting? How do we greet Jesus today?
