Trinity Lutheran Church Fifth Sunday December 29 & 30, 2018

Good Evening/Morning:

Parking Lot – I will start out with great news! It’s my pleasure to announce that our new parking lot is now paid in full. Its amazing how fast a project of this magnitude can be funded in a reasonably short time, when many come together for one cause. Thank you all for your financial support of this project!

Office Hours – 2019 is just a few days away, beginning next Wednesday our new office hours here at Trinity will be modified, the office hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 – 3:00 and by appointment.

Deadlines – Our Office deadlines will remain the same, if anyone has something for Heavenly Happenings it must be turned into the office by 12:00pm on Mondays, Prayer and Care Guide deadline will be Thursday at 12:00pm. Any items that you would like included in the new condensed version of the Trinity Gram, you are welcome to turn in, and they will be included as space permits in the next sending.

Usher Training – Ushers play an important part to ensure each worship service runs smoothly for all of our worshipers. If you would like to learn more about how you can help your church as an usher, plan now to attend our upcoming usher training on Sunday, January 13th. The training will be held in the sanctuary following worship service.

Sound System -Thanks to a generous donation to the music fund, we will be getting a new sound board and amplifiers here in the nave! This hopefully will stop some of the hums, squeals, and squawks you hear during service. Look for this improvement in the next few weeks.

Your Church– Trinity Lutheran Church doesn’t belong to the Church Council or the Pastor, it belongs to everyone that is a member of the congregation! The building and grounds here are just like your house, it needs to be taken care of to stay in good shape! So, basically one person is just as responsible as another for upkeep and appearance. If you see something that needs to be repaired, or a paper blowing across the parking lot, or even a slippery sidewalk, and you can help take care of it, it helps take the burden off others, as well as save on maintenance costs, so more of our offerings can be used in the mission field.

Text– As you may have noticed in the announcement on the screens recently, in an effort to keep up with the tech savvy generation, and also reduce processing costs, you are now able to text your offering to Trinity, if that suits your fancy, Simply send a text message to 810-285-7861 with the amount you would like to contribute (example: 25). Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Click on the link and enter your cardholder name and debit or card information. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a text verification and a receipt of your donation via email. For future giving, send a text with the amount you wish to give, and it will process automatically! You can even text “repeat” to make it a recurring donation. Give+ Text is one of the fastest, easiest ways to give. Your Tithe is as easy as a text!

2018 Budget- After an extremely tight year here at Trinity, we actually rallied just the last week, and actually have some much needed funds to send out into the mission field! At this time it looks like missions will receive between $4,000.00 and $6,000.00, this along with our time, talents and building usage for missions, valued at approximately $45,000.00,  says Trinity has done a pretty darn good job in the mission field.

Council – After our council elections at the November voters meeting and appointments in our last council meeting, your church council shapes up like this: Gary Minto – President, Chuck Ferguson- Secretary,  Vickie Foster- Education, Joe Robinson – Elders, Shelly Alger- Evangelism, Debbie Geisler- Fellowship, Gay Polly- Treasurer, Brent Meinburg- Trustees, and Casey Anger- Youth. The only seat yet to appoint is Stewardship, and hopefully this will be filled at our January council meeting on the 22nd.

SMP– Trinity has been notified that Deacon Bob has recently jumped the last hurdle for becoming a Specific Ministry Pastor (SMP for short). Deacon Bob is currently waiting on his final approval letter from the synod, and should be in receipt of it within the next 30 days, this allowing ordination as a SMP. Once ordained as a SMP it will allow him more opportunities in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, for now he will be her at Trinity, but could also move on to a church in need of a pastor under the supervision of a pastoral supervisor appointed by the district. Watch for more information in the coming weeks. Congratulation Deacon Bob!

We ARE here! – Yes Trinity is here every week between Christmas and Easter and again between Easter and Christmas, please be sure and pass this on to everyone you know, especially the people you only see on those particular holidays! We would love to see the sanctuary full every week! And, It is everyone’s job according to the Bible. Matthew 28:19-20 says to go out and make disciples! And, 1 Corinthians 14:26 says, When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. So, in 2019 lets all work towards what our Lord has asked.

Thank You for your Patience!

Happy New Year!

God’s Blessings to you All!
