Holy Week Worship Schedule

Reading Time: 2 minutes

As the Church approaches its most important and holy season, plans are underway to commemorate and remember the final days of Jesus’ life through worship. During Holy Week, we will hold special times of worship which help Christians of all ages more deeply appreciate how Jesus showed His love for us during the final days of His life.

  • Palm Sunday (March 29) – On the first Palm Sunday, Passover pilgrims welcomed Jesus to the city of Jerusalem by waving branches and shouting greetings normally reserved for royalty. Our Palm Sunday worship reflects on how the events of Palm Sunday speak to the events of our lives today. Palm Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday March 29.
  • Maundy Thursday (April 2) – On the day before He was crucified, Jesus gave a special meal to His disciples which Christians continue to celebrate and observe when they gather to worship Him. During our Maundy Thursday worship, we reflect on the blessings we have in this sacred meal we call “The Lord’s Supper”, “Holy Communion”, and “The Eucharist”. Our Maundy Thursday worship begins on Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Good Friday (April 3) – This a dark day. It was on a Friday that our Good and Loving Savior offered His life as a sacrifice in payment for our sins. We worship this day with a liturgy named, “Tenebrae” which is a Latin word meaning “darkness”. The service progresses with readings from the Biblical account of Jesus’ crucifixion. After each reading, the worship area is darkened adding to the solemnity of this day. Thank you to Trinity’s Youth for assisting with this special service.
  • Easter (April 5) – Three days after the lifeless body of Jesus was placed in the tomb, his friends went to pay their respects at the grave. During that early morning visit, Jesus’ friends discovered His grave was empty because He rose from the dead! We celebrate Jesus’ resurrection with a special worship of uplifting music and teaching about how the message of “Christ is Risen”! brings joy and hope to God’s people throughout the year. We offer two Easter worship services at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

We invite you to worship with us this Holy Week and anytime we gather in the name of Jesus.
