Good Evening/Morning

Spring has sprung and we have lots of things going on here at Trinity!

Family Promise– Recently, Trinity wrapped up another host week for Family Promise. As always everything appeared to run very smoothly. We would like to thank Mary Weeden and the many volunteers for their many hours of time and talents helping with this mission.

Vacation Bible School– Trinity is in motion for another great year of Vacation Bible School this summer! Plans are being made, the skit team is gearing up, some previous experienced leaders and helpers are doing some planning, BUT, at this time we do not have an actual coordinator. So, if you have some spare time to help out in this capacity we would sure like to hear from you. Yes it takes some time, and yes it takes some work! But probably if you think back, you attended a VBS or two when you were young, and I bet you had a blast! Please give it some consideration, and help the youngsters of this generation, make some memories while learning about our Lord! VBS will be the week of July 29th – August 2nd.

Thank You!– We would like to give a big THANK YOU to the Ladies Group for the fabulous corned beef and cabbage fundraiser that they put on. Their hard work along with the help of Thrivent, and the generous support of Trinity members and our community, produced a profit of $1,652.00 that the Ladies donated to the Trinity Building fund. Again, Thank You!

Greeters – Our new Evangelism Director Shelly Alger has hit the ground running, forming her committee! One of their first big pushes is for more greeters, to welcome everyone as the approach the sanctuary for worship. There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby downstairs on the register, this ministry is an easy one to help out with, and it doesn’t take up a bunch of your time. Please help us out with this very important ministry; it’s the easiest way I know of to make someone’s day!

Communion cups – Yes sometime they are hard to remove from the tray, this can be caused by many factors, 1) the cups get cold and shrink and settle in the tray, then while waiting to be used during service they warm up and expand, thus causing them to be hard to pull out! 2) Whom ever put the cups in the tray push on them a little by accident before they got filled? 3)the pastor, deacon, or elder whoever is serving, pushed them down on purpose, just for their entertainment watching your try to get them out or 4) and most common! When we reach to pick them up we squeeze them just a little and it makes them oval and causes them to stick! So, to help you out, when picking them up try not to squeeze!

Landscape – As the weather warms up, the beatification committee will be making Trinity shine on the outside! Flowers, mulch, and much needed tender loving care around the grounds will be on the agenda. Mary Weeden has always been the head beatification person, and she is always looking for help in the spring, so if you have some extra time, a green thumb, and a love to make things look nice! Please let Mary know when you are available to help out.

Mexican Dinner– Yes, once again, this year Trinity is hosting a Fundraiser to help offset the costs associated with Concordia Seminary, Center for Hispanic Studies for Sergio Vargas, as he prepares to become a Pastor and spread the gospel. This mostly all authentic Mexican Dinner will be prepared by some local Mexican chefs along with volunteers! It will be held Friday, May 3rd, here at Trinity. Keep your ears open for more details as the date draws nearer.

Sweet Sounds of Summer! – A community outreach is being planned for July 20th, Michael Raysin has assembled a committee, mainly the members of the Trinity Praise Band, and they have received the go ahead from the council for the event. It is still in the planning stages, but if all goes as hoped, it will be a free event to the community, and will run from 1- 5:30 with local Bands playing half hour time slots with Christian appropriate music out in the pavilion. Music, Food, Fun, and Fellowship will be the agenda. Stay tuned for further update as availlable.

Easter Season– As we slip out of March into April, the church will be busy with opportunities for everyone to share in worship and praise, for the tremendous sacrifice that was made for each and every one of us. Please take time out of your busy lifestyles to give thanks to our Lord for all he has done and given for Us! Trinity will continue the Easter season with the Wednesday Lenten services through April 10th, then Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on the 14th, Maundy Thursday Service at 7:00pm on the 18th, Good Friday Service at 7:00pm on the 19th, and then Easter Sunday we will have three services, beginning at 8:00am followed by a 9:30 service and then a 11:00 service. The Youth Group will be serving Breakfast in the lower level on Easter Sunday to settle that appetite and give you a chance to share in some fellowship!

Congratulations– On March 10th Trinity was the site for the ordination of Specific Ministry Pastor Robert Geisler. We would like to congratulate him on this accomplishment and welcome him here at Trinity as our first SMP Pastor.

Finally– Coming up on the first Sunday in May is our bi-annual voters meeting; please make an attempt to attend! This is a great time to ask questions, as well as hear reports from all of the directors! We hope to see you there!

Thank you for your patients throughout this update! I will be back for another update on June 30th.

God’s Blessing to you all!
